Ready to join?

So you're interested in joining the board of AfroMedica? Great!

The next step is figuring out where you fit in our team. We distributed our objectives into different taskforces. Each taskforce has a specific set of tasks and responsibilities. Feel free to take your time to learn more about the different taskforces.

If you feel at home in one of the taskforces you can press join which will take you to a google forms. Don't worry if you have more than one preference. You can opt for multiple taskforces in the google forms. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us!

Education

A quite intensive task force that focuses on making healthcare education more diversity-sensitive. Goals include: 

​

  • improving and correcting curricula

  • keeping contact with governing bodies of educational institutions

  • supporting (future) healthcare students

  • creating tools that help diversify healthcare education

Events

As the name suggests the main objective is organizing and coordinating events. But other tasks include: 

​

  • Advertizing events (in cooperation with PR)

  • Maintaining contact with members and attendees after the event

  • Creating safe spaces and overcoming taboos

Juridical

This taskforce's main goal is: 

​

  • maintaining and updating the articles of association

  • applying for recognition

  • applying for insurances

Finances

This taskforce keeps us fiscally responsible and manages the finances by:

​

  • balance the books

  • maintaining and creating relationships with sponsors

  • apply for grants

  • open bank accounts

  • provide meeting rooms

  • publish the annual report

PR 

This taskforce aims to inform and sensibilize while maintaining a good relationship with the public by: 

​

  • regularly posting on social media

  • maintaining and updating the website

  • advertising events
